Kawara history

There are various theories about the history of Kawara, but I will introduce one of them.

The oldest onigawara in Japan is the Rengemon Onigawara,
which was excavated from Wakakusa Garan, the temple site of Horyuji Temple in Nara, which was built about 1,400 years ago in the Asuka period.
It is said. The lotus pattern is a pattern in the shape of a flower with eight petals, and it was a ridge-end tile without Oni. The 16 petals are called 16 petals, and this is a pattern that represents the emperor. Temples in Kyoto and Nara, which are closely related to the imperial family, have 16 petals on their roof tiles. And those temples are considered to be of high status.
